Accessibility in Bevel Keys

This page is the accessibility URL for the Bevel Keys Mac app on the App Store. It describes Dark Interface (dark mode) and how to turn it on. Other Accessibility Nutrition Labels are not claimed here until we have audited them.

Dark Interface

Bevel Keys is a native Mac app. You can complete the usual work of the app — first launch, unlock, vault list, login detail, generator, backup, license / Premium purchase, and Settings — with a dark color scheme on screens, menus, and controls.

That matches Apple’s Dark Interface label: a dark appearance to reduce eye strain. Apple’s Larger Text nutrition label is iPhone and iPad only — it is not offered for Mac apps.

How to turn on dark mode in the app

  1. Open Bevel Keys and unlock your vault.
  2. Go to Settings → General → Appearance.
  3. Choose Dark to keep the app dark, or System to follow macOS (including System Settings → Appearance → Dark).

Light and Rams stay light on purpose. They do not apply Dark Interface.

Bigger text and icons on the Mac

You can make desktop labels, desktop icons, and Dock icons larger in macOS. These are Finder and Dock settings. They do not change the App Store Larger Text label (Mac does not have that label), and they do not replace Bevel Keys Settings → Appearance.

Desktop — Control-click the desktop, choose Show View Options, then:

  • Open the Text size pop-up menu and choose a size, or
  • Drag the Icon size slider.

Dock — Apple menu → System Settings → Desktop & Dock (you may need to scroll), then:

  • Drag the Size slider, and/or
  • Drag the Magnification slider so Dock icons grow when the pointer moves over them.

This website

bevelkeys.com already has a dark/light theme toggle in the header (sun and moon icons). The site defaults to dark; use that control to switch to light. It only changes this website. The Mac app still uses Settings → Appearance.

What we are not listing yet

We have not finished an audit for VoiceOver, Voice Control, Sufficient Contrast, Reduced Motion, or Differentiate Without Color Alone. Do not treat those as supported on the App Store listing until this page says so. If a dark screen is hard to read, try Light or Rams, or macOS Increase Contrast, and tell us.
